When I give an opinion on a scooter or chair, it's not the opinion of a salesman, it's the opinion of someone who uses and understands what it's like to use mobility scooters and powerchairs. DRIVE / HEARTWAY ROYALE 3. As those of you who've read my listings or follow our site will know, I like my powerchairs and for everyday use, that's what I use myself.
However there are times when a scooter is a better option and then I use my Tzora Titan, which is a 3 wheel 8mph foolding scooter. Why do I use a 3 wheeler?
I've used the 4 wheeled version and it's a great scooter, but I don't like it as much as the 3 wheeler. The 3 wheeler is lighter, more manoeuvrable and handles bumps and kerbs better.
I know some people think that 3 wheelers are unstable and 4 wheelers are just better. Over the last 11 years since I've had M. And been a scooter and chair user, I've used 3 wheelers as my personal wheels more than 4 wheelers and I've never fallen off or had one tip over and I don't know of any of our hundreds of customers who have either.Scooters, whether 3 or 4 wheeled are very stable things, with a nice low centre of gravity and unless you're doing something very silly indeed, then stability just isn't an issue. However, manoeuvrability certainly is and the advantages of 3 wheelers here are undeniable. They just have much better steering lock which means far less 3 point turns and makes them much easier to drive in tight spaces. I mentioned kerbs and bumps before and here again the 3 wheeler wins.
Several manufacturers do essentially the same machine in both 3 and 4 wheels versions, Tzsora, TGA and Drive / Heartway, to name 3. In each case the 3 wheelers always have much larger diameter front wheels. And wheel size, as I'm always going on about, is the single biggest factor in how well a scooter deals with bumps. Quite simply, the bigger the wheels, the larger the bump, or kerb, the scooter can tackle. My rule of thumb is that a scooter can tackle a kerb up to 1/4 the diameter of the wheels, which in the case of the Royale means that the 4 wheeler can handle a 3 1/4 inch kerb with its 13" front wheels, whereas the 16" front wheel of the Royale 3 will handle a full 4 kerb.
So much so that the very latest Royale 4's have bigger front wheels now. The other thing that is often better on 3 wheelers is the front suspension and again the Royale 3 has the advantage with its'motorcycle style', oil damped, telescopic front forks. So, for me, whilst the Royale 4 is an amazingly capable big scooter, the Royale 3 is better! I'll tell you a bit more about the Royale. The Royale 3 is a VERY heavy duty scooter, capable of taking a user up to 185kg up 10% gradients.
With a top speed of 8mph and a powerful motor it is a seriously quick machine with incredibly brisk acceleration. Range is great with the big batteries giving a real world range of well over 20 miles, depending on conditions and user weight. The sophisticated suspension, huge wheels and every which way adjustable captain's chair style seat giving real'all day comfort'.This is a'full size' scooter and legroom is generous so even 6 foot plus users will have a high level of comfort. The only real competition to the Royale is the TGA Breeze, which is a very good scooter, but I have to say the standard of finish and construction on the Royale is definitely a step ahead, with real'Luxury Car' quality. If you want a scooter that will take you virtually anywhere that you may want to go, whether on road, off road, or pavement and you want'all day comfort' then the Royale 3 is your perfect companion. One last thing, which may not be at the top of your wish list and yet, perhaps should be. The Royale 3 is great fun! No one wants to have to use a scooter, but if you do, then it's great to have one that makes you smile when you go out on it and the Royale 3 really does do that. The power, comfort, speed and seemingly unstoppable capability of the Royale 3 make it a real'event' to use and brings a smile to your face ever time you get on it. A remarkably capable and comfortable scooter.

What an amazing customer service and excellent item thank you so much.Really pleased with the scooter... If you live further away than 200 miles from Lancashire, contact me and I'll give you a price. You are also welcome to collect from our base which is in Mawdesley, Lancashire. I would rather do that than sell an unsuitable item to you. Mobility Scooters and Chairs are a very complicated subject, they come in a HUGE variety of different types and sizes and people do too, so matching one to the other requires knowledge and experience. We don't work like that.
